CANCELLED — 2021 Kiwanis-danville 4th of july parade — cancelled
The Town of Danville has issued the following statement:
“The Town of Danville is currently unable to accept community event applications
until the Contra Costa County Health Department authorizes large public gatherings,
at which point the Town will revisit the Community Events Program.”
It is not anticipated that the Town will revisit its decision in time to plan and organize the event.
Kiwanis appreciates the continued support and interest in the 4th of July parade.
We truly regret not being able to conduct a live parade in 2021.
This breaks our 45-year tradition of organizing and conducting the Kiwanis 4th of July Parade in Danville.
We hope to see you LIVE in 2022!
thanks for making the 2020 virtual parade a success
The 2020 Kiwanis-Danville 4th of July Parade took place on Saturday, July 4th, 2020 as a live, virtual event. This one-of-a-kind program was in place of our usual in-person parade as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event was hosted by two live emcees, Chris Chmura of NBC Bay Area and Kevin Sweeney of the Kiwanis Club of San Ramon Valley. Over 110 groups and individuals from the San Ramon Valley community were included, as well as thousands of photos and videos from past parades. There were live shots from around Danville, a community car parade, live bands and singers, and even a flyover by the Memorial Squadron honoring the Missing Man. Local citizens also got in on the act by posting pictures of their 4th of July decorations and celebrations to #4thGoneVirtual. The parade closed with a tribute to our 2020 graduates and a thanks to the sponsors that make the parade possible.

Best Band
Our comments: While all of the bands were fantastic, we were particularly impressed by the San Ramon School of Rock’s talent, passion, and creativity. Great job, guys!
