Kiwanis Club of San Ramon Valley

Each year, the Kiwanis Club of San Ramon Valley partners with NBC Bay Area News and Safeway stores in Alamo, Danville, and San Ramon for the annual food drive accepting food donations for the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano County. During the holiday season, bags of groceries priced at $10 are available at Safeway stores and food items are specifically designed for supply needs of area food banks.

Since it's inception in 2005 and with the assistance of local Key Clubs, Scouting America units and National Charity League, the effort led to nearly 1,000 bags being donated, the Kiwanis Club of San Ramon Valley has collected 170,000 pounds of food, and in the past 5 years, we've collected 2,503 bags of food, which translates into 5,000 meals. Additionally, a gift of $3,500 issued by the SRV Kiwanis Foundation.
