Overview

Members of the public, registered entrants, and sponsors are invited to submit material related to this year’s theme/event or from past Kiwanis 4th of July Parades, and 2020 graduates are invited to submit a portrait to display during the livestream.

While we welcome submissions from all, please note that except for registered entrants/sponsors, the parade organizer has no obligation to use the material supplied, nor to compensate or purchase any rights to the material.

If you are a parade entrant or sponsor, please register for the parade prior to submitting your material: 2020 Parade Registration

Guidelines

Submissions may not include any offensive, inappropriate, or controversial material, for example advertisements, political statements, or that which portrays nudity, profanity, alcohol, drugs, violence, hate, or racism. Further, entries may not be insulting or offensive to any ethnic, religious, political or other identifiable group or individual.

Submitting material REPRESENTS that you have the permission to use the material supplied. Parents/guardians must provide consent for any photos of minors and submission of material confirms that the necessary consent has been obtained.

Submissions will be accepted through June 10th, 2020 at 10:00pm (extended to June 14th).

Filming Best Practices

  1. Use a video camera or newer phone on high quality settings

  2. If using a phone, hold your phone sideways, not vertically

  3. Make sure that the brightest light (usually windows) are in front of you, BEHIND the camera. Don't stand with a window behind you.

  4. Filming during the day is usually best. The sun is an incredible light. Don't stand in direct sunlight, but rather in a room that is sunlit. Ideally record in a room that isn't a large empty space.

  5. Rooms with lots of fabrics, couches, things like that help to dampen sound and make it not echoey.

  6. Submit the highest quality version of the file(s) you have. Specific file format is generally unimportant so long as you send the highest quality version you can.
